Wrap FAQ

FAQs

Q. What's involved in a vehicle wrap?

A. There are three steps in the vehicle wrap process. Before a wrap can be produced the design and layout must be decided upon. Once the design is approved it moves to the print/production step. The final step is the installation of the graphics on your vehicle(s). In some cases there is another step which would be removal of the graphics once your campaign is over.

Q. Do I need to provide my own artwork?

A.  We can provide design services for you for a design fee typically running around $550 with your supplied elements (logos/text/photos/etc.). In this case, you provide us the elements needed and work with our designers to create the desired layout. If you have your own design capabilities we can provide you with vehicle templates and specifications for the artwork, free of charge, so that you can provide us with your completed design ready to print. It is important to remember the purpose of a vehicle wrap is advertising. Your vehicle becomes a moving billboard in which your audience has approx. 3 seconds to receive your message. Dynamic graphics with minimal text is ideal.

Q. What about producing the wrap?

A. When everything in the design process is done properly and all the specifications are followed in detail, it goes very smooth. This part of the project is where most companies try to cut corners in order to reduce the overall cost. Our quality control policy mandates that our production department print a proof on the material to be used. Also, a full size cropped area of the vehicle wrap graphics is printed for our files so if down the road something needs to be reprinted we can match the swatch.

Q. How are the graphics printed and produced?

A. Once the design is approved we print the graphics on one of our digital printers and then laminated for improved durability.  If required we will send you a printed proof prior to printing the entire job. This is recommended when matching color is critical. We also print a proof for our records to help match color in case reprints are needed in the future to repair damaged areas or add more vehicles to a fleet.

Q. How does installation work?

A. If you have an indoor location available that can fit your vehicle we can send installers directly to you to complete the installation on site. If you don't have an indoor area we recommend that you bring the vehicle to the installers' location to apply the graphics. A clean and climate controlled environment is extremely important to quality of the finished wrap. Wind, rain, extreme temperatures, dirt, etc. all contribute to the breakdown of the install process. If you are further than an hour from the closest installer an additional trip charge may apply.

Q. Will the wrap damage my vehicle’s paint when the graphics are removed?

A. If you have factory paint in good condition at the time of application, there will be no damage to the paint, in fact the wrap protects your paint. If your vehicle has paint that is oxidized, cracked, peeling or has been repainted due to age or accident, the paint may possibly be damaged in the removal process.  These conditions also adversely affect the adhesion of the wrap to the vehicle

Q. Can I wrap a leased or rented vehicle?

A. Sure, majority of the vehicles we wrap are leased or rented for specific campaigns whether they be short or long term. The wrap can easily be removed without any damage at the end of the lease or rental term.

Q. How long should the wrap last?

A. You can expect to get 3-5 years and longer out of the wrap provided proper care is given to the graphics. The graphics are very durable but they aren't bulletproof. If they stayed on perfectly for years and years you'd never get them off.

Q. What is the proper care for my wrap?

A. Hand washing with soft non-abrasive sponge is the best method. Avoid high pressure washes because that spray can actually tear the vinyl or cause seams to lift.

Q. What’s the difference between a ½, ¾ and full wrap?

A. 1/2 Wrap includes the entire rear of the vehicle and 1/2 way up the vehicle, and includes a hood logo. A 3/4 Wrap includes the entire rear of the vehicle and 3/4 way up the vehicle, and includes a hood logo. Typically, a Full Wrap includes the entire surface of the vehicle with or without the roof, depending on the vehicle and the client's wishes.

Q. Once my design is approved how long does the entire process take?

A. From the time that the design is completed and approved by our client, a wrap can be printed and installed within 10 business days, sometimes less depending on circumstances. If design work is required add an additional two weeks for the design process.

Q. Can you wrap anything other than a vehicle, RV or Bus?

A. Absolutely, we can wrap buildings, windows, storefronts and large machinery. If the surface to wrap has enough adhesion for the vinyl, a wrap is possible
